Completing your 2024 Tax Return Form

Your step-by-step guide to our new comprehensive intake form that will help ensure we can process your taxes as efficiently and effectively while maximizing your return! Please take a moment to review the steps below and if you still have questions, feel free to email us.

Step 1: Accessing the Form

You can access our 2024 Tax Intake Form by visiting balanceaccountinginc.ca/income-tax or by visiting the link below. All intake forms must be submitted by Monday April 14th, 2025 to guarantee completion before the tax the deadline. 


Step 2: Complete Form

This form is designed to guide you through the questions required to complete your return. It will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Some things to know as you work to complete your form:

  • You can save your progress and return to your form at a later time

  • The form is responsive and will adapt the questions based on how you answer certain questions (you will only be asked for details about childcare expenses if you select ‘yes’ for ‘did you have childcare expenses in 2024’)

  • For certain questions where we require additional information, you will be presented with two options. You can choose to input the information directly in the form if you have it on-hand, or you can select to have a worksheet sent to you following the submission of your form

  • For any questions that require back-up documentation, you will be asked to upload these documents using the uploader tool in the form

  • These documents include:

    • Childcare expenses

    • Medical expenses

    • Donations

    • RRSP contributions

    • Student loans

    • Copies of your bookkeeping records if using Excel or Sheets

  • Once you have completed all the required questions for your customized intake, you can hit submit on the form

  • If you selected to receive a worksheet for any of the questions, you will be emailed a personalized worksheet within 1-2 business days of completing your form


Step 3: Complete Your Worksheet

  • We will send you a personalized worksheet based on how you answered the questions in your form within 1-2 business days

  • If you do not receive your worksheet within that time, please send an email to hello@balanceaccountinginc.ca

  • At the bottom of the document you will see a tab for each sheet you will need to compete

  • Please complete each sheet ensuring you have entered all necessary information into the form fields using the example text provided

  • Once you've completed all worksheets, share this document with our team by doing the following:

  1. Click 'Share' in the top-right corner

  2. In the field that says 'add people, groups, and calendar events' type in hello@balanceaccountinginc.ca and ensure the role shows as ‘editor’

  3. You can include a message indicating you've completed your worksheets and ensure 'notify people' is checked

  4. Press ‘Send’

  • If we need any additional information from you, or have questions, we will reach out using the contact information provided in your form
